Knightly Knews - January 2022
Pope John Paul II Council #2014

This is the 2nd issue of your Council’s new monthly newsletter. Its purpose is to let our members know what we have done and what we will be doing in the upcoming months. Council 2014 has become an ACTIVE Council, and we hope that this newsletter inspires those of you who have been sitting on the sidelines to become ACTIVE members of our Council.
We need YOU to step up!
January and February Council Meetings
Our January 5 and February 2 Council Meetings will be held at the Church on Roosevelt Avenue immediately following the INTO THE BREACH Presentation!
January Business Meeting - Wednesday, January 5, 2022

Into the Breach
Starting on Wednesday, January 5 at 6:30 PM, we will be presenting our 6-week video series INTO THE BREACH. This series presents Bishop Thomas Olmsted’s challenge to Catholic men to step Into the Breach. It explores the crisis of faith facing the Church today and presents a vision of the role of Catholic men in combatting it. ALL OF OUR MEMBERS ARE URGED TO ATTEND THIS IMPORTANT PRESENTATION. BRING A FRIEND, ALL MEN ARE WELCOME! The series will be held at the Church on Roosevelt Avenue.
A Special Plea for Help
The Council has allocated funds to fix our BBQ trailer but can’t find anyone to do the work. We need to remove and replace the burners and gas piping in the trailer. If you know of anyone who can
do this work, please call:
Dave King at 301-943-0911.
3rd Degree Ceremonial and Council Christmas Party
On December 9, our Council’s newly-formed Ceremonial Team inducted 2 new Members into our Council. This was the Team’s first ceremony and it went very well! Our Team members are Dave Conley, Chance Tienhaara, Nick Bronk, Steve Green, and John Forrest. Our Chaplain, Father Brady, also participated in the ceremony. Our 2 new members are Dario Papasergia and Jose Castellon. Both men are already taking an active role in our Council. Give them both a warm Council 2014 welcome next time you see them. After the Ceremonial, about 35 of our members and their guests participated in the Council’s Family Christmas Party. The food was very good, the drinks were cold, and the camaraderie was just what this Council needs. A good time was had by all! Unfortunately, the photographer was too busy having a good time and forgot to take any photos.
